• A power able is an assembly of two or more eletrialondutors, usually held together with an overall sheath. The assembly is used for transmission of eletrial power. Power ables may be installed as permanent wiring within buildings, buried in the ground, run overhead, or exposed.
  
  Power ables ome in a variety of sizes, materials, and types, eah partiularly adapted to its uses. Large single insulated ondutors are also sometimes alled power ables in the industry.

  ables onsist of three major omponents: ondutors, insulation, protetive jaket. The makeup of individual ables varies aording to appliation. The onstrution and material are determined by three main fators:
  •  Working voltage, determining the thikness of the insulation;
  •  urrent-arrying apaity, determining the ross-setional size of the ondutor(s);
  •  Environmental onditions suh as temperature, water, hemial or sunlight exposure, and mehanial impat, determining the form and omposition of the outer able jaket.
